Forward Planning

Development Planning or Forward Planning involves the preparation of physical development plans. Urban Planning for future physical growth through Local Area Plans or Town Plans is managed by this section.
 
The Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is a sub-section of the Forward Planning section, this section provide support to the forwarding section through spatial planning to inform policy development and decision making. It also has the function of gathering, storing and producing geographical information mainly in the form of maps. This is achieved by using global positioning devices to capture data such as roads, buildings and land parcels.

About Us

The Physical Planning and Development Authority is a division governed by the Ministry of Communications, Works Physical Development, Public Utilities, ICT and Community Development. The Physical Planning and Development Authority is the authority that supervises the implementation of the Physical Planning and Development Control Act # 23 (2016) which makes provisions for the control of physical development, the preparation of physical plans for Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinque and the protection of the natural and cultural heritage.
